This is our certificate. I am very proud of it!
They gave the only in colour copy to our headmaster Mr. Luigi Orefice who was very happy to have it and visit our blog.
This is the leaflet we have done to advertise our blog in our school
The students of the class 1 D are taking part in an International project
by the Brithish Council:
Connecting classrooms.
We have created a blog and we’d like you to visit and post it:
My daily blog
We hope you’ll enjoy it.
Thank you J
I love dancing. I started when I was
three, so I have danced for a very long period. Now I’ve given it up. At
first I looked for another school but their levels where too high for me and
they went on really fast with new steps so I didn’t keep up with their step.
Now I do gymnastics but I never forget when I danced. It is always with me in
my heart and in my mind.
Every time I listen to music I remember
all the sacrifices I have done to dance: my bloody feet for three years of
dancing on points, blisters and tears for the pain I felt but also the
satisfaction of being and dancing on a stage in front of an audience that
always clapped. It still gives me shudders
if I think of it.
Dancing is a real discipline and you
must exercise almost every day. I danced both classic and contemporary music.
Actually they are so different even in the uniform you must wear for the
performance.
For classic ballet you wear the tutu with white or pale pink stockings, for contemporary ballet I usually wore shorts and sport bra.

Here you can see my points :)
26th April
We went to the lab because our teacher wanted us to work on a leaflet for our blog.
We started to find some pictures on the net and each of us worked on a different leaflet. In fact we'll make copies of them and then we'll hand out them to the other students of the school to advertise our blog and invite them to visit and post it.
25th April: Liberation day in Italy |
The 25th April is the day that Italy commemorates the
liberation of the country by Allied troops in the Second World War (1945).
Every year the Italians commemorate this event. Students don’t go to school and
people don’t go to work. To celebrate this festivity there are some parades, like that of ‘frecce rosse’
as you can see in the picture above. They are a formation of planes of our Air
force that do an amazing performance in the sky with coloured smoke. The
colours are green, red and white like those of our
national flag. This year our president, Giorgio Napolitano, as usual has taken
part in a public ceremony held in Pesaro (an Italian city) and there were a lot
of people and lots of children as well, so that we don’t lose this
commemoration in the future. (Elisa)
Today is Monday 23th April, I get up at half past six, I take a shower and I have breakfast. I’m very bored because I have to go to school. I commute everyday to Latina. So at quarter past seven I take the bus and arrive at Latina and I walk to school.
The lessons start at ten past eight and I have a lot of subjects but in between lessons I enjoy spending time with my friends. The school on Monday finishes at ten past one p.m.
I take the bus and return to my home at half past one. I have lunch with my
family and later I surf the net or play videogames.
In the afternoon I do my homework and after that I go out and play football with my friends. I usually have a great time with them. Later I come back home and I surf the net again and then I have dinner with my family. I usually go to bed at half past eleven and before sleeping I watch some tv programs while I’m in my bed. (Luca)

From 16th to 20th April some students of the class are on school trip in Sicily, a very beautiful Italian island.
All together |
Today is 18th April
We woke up at 6.30 in the morning. At 8.00 we
had breakfast and then visited another archaeological site: the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.
It is one of the most important archeological sites in
the world and a Unesco world heritage site since 1998.
The temple of Concord |
Here I was
very interested in the history of the temples.
At 12.00 we went to visit
Pirandello’s birthplace. Pirandello is a famous Italian novelist and his works
are very popular. Now the House, largely restored after the war, has been
converted into a museum and displays relics, family photos, paintings,
theatrical images, manuscripts, and editions of theatrical works and novels.
Then, we followed the short path that leads to the "rough stone" which contains his
ashes,
and admired the amazing view on the "African sea".
At about 13.00 we returned to the hotel for
having lunch and we relaxed until 15.15. So we went to visit the city of Agrigento.
In the evening at 20.00 we had dinner and, soon
after it we went to sleep in our rooms.
We woke up at 07:00 and
after the breakfast we went on our trip. We travelled from Cinisi (a very small
town near Palermo) where we spent the night to Segesta. There we visited the
only Roman temple we have in these places.
Later we travelled to
Erice. It’s a medieval mountain town and is very very beautiful.
Erice is located on top of Mount Erice, at around 750m
above sea level, overlooking the city of Trapani.
There we visited the
cathedral that is really beautiful
and the two castles: Pepoli and Venus.
Then we had lunch in a typical restaurant, Prima Dea, and ate lasagna a typical Italian meal. In the afternoon we travelled to Selinunte.

Selinunte is an ancient Greek archaeological
site. It contains five temples centered
on an acropilis.
The temples here are different from that in Segesta, here they are greek
temples. The difference is in the columns.
Compare the two photos, can you see it?
Finally we travelled to our hotel in Agrigento. After a shower, we had dinner and before going to sleep we meet all together to have fun and to chat.

January 21st was the biggest day of my life, I was going to be travling by myself to another country for 6 months and be living with a host family that was willing to take me in and make me part of the family, This experiance meant that i would be leaving my friends and family behind but this journy was important for me. The resaon why i chosse italy for my experiance is because my nonni ogrianated from italy and even though i have grown up with some of the italian traditions and the culture i still wanted to get the full experiance. Before i arrived i only know a smallest bit of italian and that was from studying it at school and what my bisnonni spoke to me, what i wanted to get out of this experiance was to be cultuered and speak the language so i could have a real conversation with my bisnonni without turning to my papà and asking him to translate for me. So far i haved lived in italy for 4 months and my experiance in italy has been amazing i have met so many wonderful people who are now friends that i will have forever, I have been to Rome, Sicily, Napoli and the Snow, i have eaten the most delious meals and seen how a chicken has been plucked and cooked for us to eat for lunch the next day.
